Investigating Addiction and Recovery

The Matrix Institute is a non-profit organization established in 1984. Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug use through treatment, education and training, and research promoting a greater understanding of addiction disorders. Matrix clinics serve as sites for many service grants and research projects conducted by the Institute as well as those conducted by the staff and inestigators of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP). The service grants fund effective treatments that have been supported by research findings. The research projects conducted at the clinics evaluate both new treatments for addictions and new applications of recognized treatment interventions. Conducting this research and disseminating the findings to the widest possible audience are the primary goals of the Institute. Matrix staff have published extensively on a number of subjects regarding chemical dependency treatment.
