Research & Grants - Investigating Addiction and Recovery

250helpingThe Matrix Institute is a non-profit organization established in 1984. Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug use through treatment, education and training, and research promoting a greater understanding of addiction disorders.

Service Grants & Research Projects
Matrix Institute offices serve as sites for many service grants and research projects conducted by the Institute and other organizations such as the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Integrated Substance Abuse Programs (ISAP).

  • The service grants fund the delivery of effective treatments that are supported by research findings.
  • The research projects evaluate both new treatments for addictions and new applications of recognized treatment interventions.
  • Conducting this research and disseminating the findings to the widest possible audience are the primary goals of the Institute. Matrix staff have published extensively in academic peer-reviewed journals and in the popular press.
