The
Matrix Institute is a non-profit organization established in 1984.
Our mission is to improve the lives of individuals and families
affected by alcohol and other drug use through treatment, education
and training,
and research
promoting a greater understanding of addiction disorders. Matrix
Institute’s goal today is to improve the quality and availability
of addiction treatment services. The focus of the Institute is to
disseminate accurate, empirically-based information in the healthcare
system. Matrix Institute is governed by a board of directors. The
board members are as follows: Carol Archie, MD, UCLA Medical Center;
Paul Brethen, MA, MFCC, Matrix Institute; Albert Hasson, MSW, Chairman,
Matrix Institute; Paul Leon, Pastor and Ontario City Council Member;
Patricia Marinelli-Casey, PhD, UCLA ISAP; Michael McCann, MA, Secretary,
Matrix Institute; Dae Medman, LCSW, Treasurer, Entertainment Industry
Referral and Assistance Center; Brian Murphy, Avalon Attractions;
